Guro Rick Faye
Rick founded the Minnesota Kali Group (MKG) in 1982, which has since become an international martial arts organization with many branches and affiliated schools around the world, including England, Japan, Spain, Scotland, Germany and the United States. Teaching as many as thirty seminars a year worldwide, Rick is known for his depth of knowledge in martial arts, his impressive attention to detail, and his talent for perceiving and synthesizing the connections between the arts. Rick’s training methods and curriculum progressions are comprehensive, original and demonstrate Jeet Kune Do concepts at their best.
As a school owner and instructor, Rick is dedicated to the highest levels of training and individual improvement in martial arts. Believing that martial arts are a way of life that bring positive change to the world, he is committed to the health benefits of regular practice along with the experience of belonging to a fun and encouraging community. Rick’s enthusiasm for martial arts and teaching is integral to the MKG experience, while his training methods have helped thousands of individuals excel in martial arts all over the world.
Over the years, numerous world class competitors and individuals who have made significant contributions to martial arts have trained at MKG, including Sensei Erik Paulson, Guro Phil Norman, Guro Diana Rathborne, Professor Roy Harris, Takashi Uchino and many more. Though each of these individuals have gone on to found their own schools, they continue to teach seminars and classes at MKG. Committed to the best in martial arts, MKG also hosts martial arts legends such as Guro Dan Inosanto, Grandmaster Chai Sirisute, Sifu Francis Fong and Tuhon Bill McGrath every year
